The Comfort Dogs of Uganda is a documentary project about former child soldiers in Northern Uganda who learn to process trauma and rebuild trust with the help of trained dogs. The website was built to promote the film.

Project

I have worked with filmmaker Richard Wainwright before, he’s an accomplished humanitarian photographer and he needed a clean, focused site for this new documentary project: a place to tell the story, show the trailer, share stills from the film, list screenings and how to get in touch.

The content is emotionally heavy, so the design had to stay out of the way: no visual noise, no clever distractions, just a focus on the movie and the people involved.

Summary

Set up and configured with WordPress as a simple, editor‑friendly CMS, it’s easy for Richard to add new film screenings, images and press material.

We built the website with a very clear and straightforward top menu, making access to the different sections easy. The front-page opens with striking visuals, bringing the audience in and quickly allowing them to view the trailer and read more about the project.

This was a smaller web project, but for a great cause. Richard has produced a powerful documentary covering an emotional but important topic, giving a lot of space to the people featured to tell their stories. Also active posting news on Facebook, the website hopefully helps the project reach even more people.
