Engineering Nature
Safeguard nature's integrity
Engineering Nature is a campaigning website about genetic engineering and specifically a motion at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The website needed to quickly present the case for motion 133 and act as a central source of information.
For this project, WordPress was set up from scratch and both the visual design and the custom theme were created specifically for the site. The layout is built around bold typography and messaging, with a clear navigation and structure. The admin uses Elementor as a page editor, making content administration easy for the site editors, which was especially important during the conference itself, when information changed quickly.
The website uses the Polylang multilingual plugin, showing content in English, French and Spanish – the three official IUCN languages.
Summary
This was a quick and interesting project, with a clear deadline as it needed to be ready for the IUCN conference. The website is to-the-point and visually clear, with an easy-to-manage admin system.
