I have built a number of previous versions of Isak Retail’s webshop and it has always been a exciting project.
The last version was built by another agency through a partnership. When that partnership came to an end I was asked to re-build the shop.
The decision was made to move from the previous custom platform to WooCommerce. This speeds up development time and allows for more flexibility when developing new functionality.
WooCommerce makes it easy to add and edit products.
After a product hiatus, Isak’s owner Sandra Isaksson started working on a new range for the relaunched website. Inspired by the midnight sun and northern Europe, it is called Midnattssol.
Summary
It has been a predictably fun and challenging project, in equal measures.
New functions have been built and content (including orders) has been migrated from the old website. There is a new responsive design. With the WooCommerce plugin as a platform, new integrations such as affiliate marketing are getting added.
It will be interesting to see what additions are still to come.
